About Our Foundation
Gift a Treat is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides free access to healthcare necessities and auxilary services for impoverished patients who barely make a dollar a day in wages. We strive to inspire and improve the lives of those who live in abject poverty, primarily in the villages of Gujarat, India. Even a small contribution can make a huge difference in someone’s life.
Our Causes
Gift a Treat works tirelessly to provide quality, long-term solutions for a number of pressing medical needs afflicting people living in extreme poverty. Our most significant causes are those that are often brushed aside by most. Our battle is against indifference, and we would love for you to become a part of that change today.
Dialysis Support
After finally undergoing dialysis treatment, a neverending loop of other medical issues await, the emotional hardships tormenting these poor patients remain. Although the government funds this treatment, patients still have to pay for daily medications that they are unable to afford. For only a dollar a day, these patients are no longer forced to borrow money at high interest rates, and instead can pursue life saving medical treatments.
Prosthetics
Patients afflicted with polio, diabetes, congenital conditions or accidents have missing or nonfunctional limbs, which significantly impact their quality of life. A contribution of $70 can fund a life-changing prosthetic which provides a new, rich perspective to life.
Diagnostic Services
Patients are unable to afford basic diagnostic tests such as MRI’s, blood tests, and CT Scans, which are critical to determining a proper treatment plan. For only $10-$100, these patients can access these necessary tests and finally be cured.

The Ripple Effect of Generosity
On the right is Rita Rajyaguru. Before receiving a sewing machine, Rita worked as a small tailer who manually stitced and repaired garments. With her new sewing machine, Rita will be able to sell ready made clothes and earn a sustainable wage. She is also teaching uneducated women in her neighborhood how to sew, measure, and cut cloth so they too can earn a livelihood.

Gift a Treat was founded as a way of spreading hope and providing support to those who are unable to afford medical necessities. During one of our visits to India, we met with our grandpa's friend who volunteers at the government hospital. He uses his own money to fund diagnostic services not covered by the hospital for patients who struggle to make a few dollars a day. Touched by his generosity, we were inspired to help further such a noble cause, and Gift a Treat was born.
Every dollar makes a difference. We hope Gift a Treat inspires more and more young people to participate by donating small dollar amounts, and collectively we can help bring change and positively impact many lives.
